Thomas Rotering

Thomas Rotering, MPH, is an associate research specialist working with the UCSF School of Pharmacy and the Center for Tobacco Control Research and Education. Thomas lives in Colorado, where he graduated with a Master’s degree from the University of Colorado, School of Public Health, in Denver, and also holds an undergraduate degree in Biology from Grand Canyon University. His April 2022 publication in the International Journal of Drug Policy examines lobbying expenditures by the marijuana industry in the Colorado State Legislature. Prior to joining the UCSF team, he worked in consulting with the Keystone Policy Center, as a legislative intern with the Colorado General Assembly, and in palliative care as a nurse’s assistant. His professional background also involves the study of vaccination policy, medical liability, and health communication. Rotering continuing research explores the cannabis industry’s influence on local and state policymaking.
