Sarah Babcock

Sarah Babcock is a Chief Administrative Assistant for Jefferson Parish and oversees all public health initiatives. In this role, she is coordinating the COVID-19 response, assessing community health needs within Jefferson Parish and assisting to create a more robust emergency preparedness program to better serve the needs of all Jefferson Parish residents.

Prior to her work in Jefferson Parish, Ms. Babcock served as the Director of Policy for the New Orleans Health Department where she oversaw population health initiatives such as emergency preparedness, environmental health, injury prevention, health policy and public information. In this role, Ms. Babcock created the New Orleans Special Needs Registry, started the Medical Reserve Corps volunteer program, and led the effort to get the department Project Public Health Ready certified. She has also managed the public health response to Ebola, Zika, COVID-19, and natural disasters for the City of New Orleans.

Ms. Babcock received a Master of Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Elon University. She previously worked for the Florida Department of Health in disease prevention and health promotion.
