Juliana Frederick Curry

Juliana Frederick Curry has over 16 years of experience in state and national grassroots organizing, direct lobbying, campaign planning and execution, fundraising and volunteer management.

Juliana began her career with the American Cancer Society as a project manager, quickly transitioning to Grassroots Manager for the state of West Virginia for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) then served as the Government Relations Director and successfully led campaigns to pass policy that would help decrease cancer incidence in the state of West Virginia.

During the legislative session of 2021, Juliana became an independent consultant and began lobbying work for Americans for Nonsmokers’ Rights, Voices for Healthy Kids, TSG Consulting LLC and helped lead preemption defense and tobacco policy efforts in the state.

Following legislative session, she moved into a new role as Project Director for the West Virginia Perinatal Partnership where she is focusing on efforts to improve birth outcomes in West Virginia by reducing tobacco use before, during and after pregnancy.

Juliana is currently the chair of the Coalition for a Tobacco-Free West Virginia and a Federal Organizer for the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. She is also serving by Gubernatorial appointment on the West Virginia Tobacco Prevention & Cessation Task Force, Rare Disease and Palliative Care Councils.

Juliana received both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Journalism from West Virginia University Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism.
