With over a decade of public policy, advocacy, political and civic experience, Jamie Ennis Bloyd formed Jamie Ennis Bloyd Consulting, LLC at the start of 2012. Her focus is on the most prominent issues of this generation – health care reform, human wellness, health innovation and scientific advancements.
Jamie’s distinctive work on the “statewide smoke-free public places” campaign began in 2008. She has served as Kentucky public advocacy manager for the American Heart Association. In this role she managed intergovernmental relations and public awareness on successful local ordinance changes, working with local leaders from Lexington to Campbellsville to Somerset and Danville. Currently she serves in the same role for the state effort to have all public places be smoke-free, consistent with a majority of states. Her success in drawing business leaders, top line community officials and conservative centers of influence has grown an army of support.
Jamie served as district director and advance staff leader during the administration of Governor Ernie Fletcher, 2003-2007. This included working closely with community leaders as well as citizens from all walks of life to manage appearances on public priorities by Governor Fletcher, his cabinet and senior staff. She also worked for the Center for Rural Development, founded by U.S. Rep. Hal Rogers, now the chairman of the House Appropriations Committee. Active in numerous Republican campaigns over the years, she worked in the press office of U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, now Senate Republican Leader, back in 2002.
Jamie was named by The Lane Report conservative business magazine as a “Rising Star” in Government and Politics in January 2010. She was selected to participate in the prestigious Leadership Lexington program in 2005 as well as Leadership Somerset/Pulaski County in 2003. This month Jamie and her husband will be featured in BG Magazine as young professional leaders in our community.
Jamie graduated from the University of Kentucky and has a master’s in public administration. She is a member of the American Society for Public Administration. She studied public relations and public policy at King’s College in London, England while job shadowing at Edelman Public Relations firm.
Jamie is married to Cheslee Bloyd, a Physician Assistant at Bluegrass Orthopaedics and Hand Care. They’ve been married for seven years. They have a two year old girl Ansley and four year old boy Paxton. Jamie and Cheslee are active at Centenary United Methodist Church, particularly in their global outreach ministry.
